With the vast majority of small businesses failing within 10 years, Kathy and Sue’s endeavor is one of a very small number that have not only survived, but in fact have thrived. Founded on the back of a napkin in a McDonald’s in 1988, the company has since grown in ways that could not have been imagined then. At the heart of ORI’s success has been a fundamental commitment to excellent client service and ongoing innovation. ORI used research to understand the needs of its own customers and then incorporated evolving technologies to create meaningful solutions for them. Today the firm manages a substantial portfolio of clients and work — including one of the government’s largest data collection projects. Life @ ORI
“The entrepreneurial spirit here is unlike anything I’ve seen in companies as well established as ORI. The company’s openness to new ideas and innovation, and the extraordinarily collaborative spirit, makes it a truly empowering place to work.”
— John Kagia, Director of Strategy and Insight
“The small business culture is great because I’ve been able to work on a variety of projects and tasks that I may not have been able to otherwise. It’s helped me to grow professionally and the work is always engaging.”
— Jessica Narod, Project Assistant
“I stay at ORI because of the commitment to the team, the commitment to flexibility that allows us to manage our obligations outside the office, and the continuous stretching to achieve the larger vision of what ORI can be.”
— Heidi Guglielmino, Director, Research
